The start of Odette

There's not been much knitting I'm afraid, however, I did started the Odette Blanket from Rowan Little Treasures at the weekend. Honestly, Rowan couldn't have chosen a smaller font for the pattern. Talk about strain on the eyes.

I'm using Rowan Baby Soft. Its a mix of 50% wool, polymide and cotton. Its a bulky weight yarn and feels very soft in the ball. I thought I'd hate working with it though, but its actually a nice soft warm texture and I can really see a baby snuggling into this blanket being kept nice and warm.

This one's for "Baby B" so I guess money's on a girl then!!

Hopefully, I'll have a bit more progress to show you later on in the week, but I've got my head in a novel and I can't remove it. You know what its like when you pick up a page turner (its a Penny Vincenzi).

hi, looks beautiful so far! thought i have to let you know that i got into the habit of knitting from copies - i scan the whole instructions and enlarge if necessary(!), that makes the whole process easier, i don't have to drag the whole mag around and keeps it in a better shape. i carry the instructions in clear sheet protectors, whichever page i'm working from goes up front...

OH MY GOSH!! Odette looks beautiful so far!! Gorgeous colors - I can't wait to see it finished. I, like your other poster, also make copies of the pattern and enlarge the instructions/chart -- my eyes can't take the teeeensy type/graphs.

odette is gorgeous!! can't wait to see it all knit up =)

as for the vogue stitchionary - i flipped through and it looks really nice! haven't used it for anything though, but it's always nice to have a reference book for different types of stitches. =)

Odette looks great. I haven't seen inside the pattern book but that's made me more inclined to search it out.

Are you going to Olympia on Saturday? I've read your blog for a while but only just started my own. It might be fun to meet in real life! (Or also really scary in a maybe-this-peron-who-has-randomly-contacted-me-is-really-a-psycho manner.)

EVERYONE makes copies? After two years of knitting, I find this out. Ok, thanks for sharing, thats exactly what I'm gonna start doing.

Yeah, I make copies of some things too, more for portability but also for eye ease.

I'll try to remember to take pictures of Olympia for you. Take it easy.

Hi Sweatpea. Olympia was fun but the knitting stands were few. I took some pictures and www.annarella.com has a good post about it too.

You didn't miss too much and it was extremely tiring.
