Please be upstanding and welcome the Addi Turbos

They really do deserve a round of applause. They are the Rolls Royce of needles. They're slick, they're smooth and they're fast.

All this came in the post for me on Thursday. No, it wasn't my birthday!

I cast Chicago onto the Turbos. Bead 1, Knit 1, Bead 1, Knit 1... this is going to take me a long time. I only hope its worth it and I wear it.

When do I go public with this blog? Shall I start letting people into my meshigenah world?

Spring flowers on your shoulder

I finished this felted bag today. I used Cascade 220 doubled, which took months to get here (but thats a whole story in itself). I chose lovely vibrant colours so I could wear it during the Spring/Summer months. Those lovely vibrant colours faded in the wash, but Im still happy with the result... even though there is some stitch definition left.

Home alone! Just me, my needles and yarn

Darling Daddy went out to watch the Football last night. So I was looking forward to lazing on the sofa and knitting the night away. The Boobala was coughing all night, so I was up and down the stairs abit.

I finished off the Buckle Bag from R37, all I need to do is buy the buckle and some lining material and sew it all together. I plan to take this to Florida when we all go.

I also threaded 150 beads onto the Calmer ready to start Chicago, but after casting on 100 of the 300 odd stitches I found I'm going to need to do this on circulars, because my reguarlar 4mm were too short. I went online and treated myself to some Addi Turbos. Cant wait to get my hands on them.

I tried to start Crumpets also last night, but didn't have the right sized circulars. The pattern requires 3.75mm 60" circulars, which are far too long, so I need to order 24".

A few sips of kosher wine for a Pesach quickie

Last night we had the sedar at my parents. We wanted to start early because of the kids. No worries about that, we had the Ma Nish Ta Na, a few sips of wine and the whole shabbang piled on a matz0. It was over before you could count to three.

Even though I was totally suffed after a lovely meal cooked by the best mum in the world, I had to try my baking. My stick in the throat cake (Plavah) just didn't stick in the throat. I was amazed, well, not totally as I do consider myself a bit of a Balebuste. I was pleased to see that the Boobalah's cooking went down a treat.

We spent all day baking and making Mama's Mutzo Cookies...
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups of matzo meal
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs
1/2 cup ground almonds
Cream butter and sugar, add all other ingredients and mix well.
Roll out thin on a board sprinkled with matzo meal.
Cut and bake in a 375 oven for 12 mins.
We cut out speciality areoplanes and ducks, just because the Boobalah wanted to.

When Rowan 37 came through, Chicago was one of my favourites, so now I've finished my bag, I'll be starting this soon. My yarn came through a few weeks ago and I was just waiting for the beads. Now everything is here I can't wait to start. Im not sure what colour flowers I'll do, I'll decide once I've finished the cardigan.

The Boobala and I went up to London to day to have lunch with Daddy. After lunch, of course I had to pop into John Lewis. Unfortunately, I went without a list of "I wants". Had to buy something, so I bought Rowan 35. It seems ok, it has a lovely section on Learning to Crochet.
